What type of sexually transmitted disease do/did you have?#

The common STDs are chlamydia, gonorrhea, genital herpes, papilloma virus infections, syphilis, hepatitis B virus infection (HBV), and HIV disease.

Is your STD in an active or nonactive state?#

Active STDs such as gonorrhea, syphilis, herpes simplex virus (HSV) Camera icon, and human papilloma virus (HPV) Camera icon may present with oral manifestations and can potentially be transmitted upon direct contact.

Active syphilis may be associated with significant cardiomyopathy.

Nonactive disease usually poses no risk of transmission.

HBV and HIV disease need to be addressed as systemic diseases.
