Patient with a plaque-like oral lichen planus for more than 15 years.

This image was taken 6 months later. The dentist had observed an ulceration behind the last molar. He thought that the ulceration was caused by a newly fabricated oral appliance for prevention of snoring.The device was adjusted several times before the dentist realized that the ulcer had a different etiology. The patient died 6 months later of this oral squamous cell carcinoma.
